Doreanse is a Turkish brand of underwear that's quite easily available in the UK, whether through Amazon or DeadGoodUndies. The company has been around since 2004 and it appears that it is a textile maker too (of which Turkey is a major exporter). They have been making a very large selection of thongs and g-strings, along with thong bodysuits, which are rarer as far as I'm aware. They also make underwear and lingerie for women in addition to men.

I bought two, both from DeadGoodUndies, which I think seems to be the main supplier in the UK.

1390 Aire String
https://www.deadgoodundies.com/doreanse-1390-aire-string

Unlike what its name suggests, this string has a thong back although, from the front, it is practically indistinguishable from a g-string. This thong is made of polyamide and as such is very soft and elastic. However, I had a few qualms about it since I thought that the string waistband ended up being smaller than expected, making prolonged wear not as comfortable as I'd hope. The back has a great width for a thong and I found it comfortable. The pouch is snug but also not very roomy; it has a bit more of a flat front which I didn't mind, and that also means there isn't much of a bulge. I think the thong itself looks very nice and sexy, and the quality also appears to be pretty great in my opinion.

1330 Micro Modal ECO Thong
https://www.deadgoodundies.com/doreanse-1330-micro-modal-eco-thong

Hilariously, this one is labelled a thong when it is truly a g-string. This one is made of a soft micro modal fabric which I really liked. However, I had the same issues with the 1390 string in that the waistband felt a bit tighter than I'd hoped it would be. Perhaps I'm just not as big a fan of g-strings as I am for normal bikini thongs. This one is a bit more lowrise than the 1390, and as such the pouch is very snug, and I found it to be on the small side. The bulge is likewise not very apparent, but I didn't mind that. The back was very nice though, as I didn't feel like I was wearing anything. Build quality is similarly nice.

I was quite surprised to see that there isn't already a 2(X)IST review thread given how widespread the brand appears to be. The Los Angeles-based American brand likely doesn't need any introduction, perhaps being one of the brands most consistently selling thongs. Unfortunately, 2(X)IST appears to focus on making Y-Back thongs, which frankly aren't my favourite type of thong. I currently own a single thong from 2(X)IST, the Sliq Micro Thong which I shall review below:

Sliq Micro Y-Back Thong

The Sliq Micro Y-Back Thong appears to be the more premium thong offering from 2(X)IST, given its significant price premium over their essential line of thongs. This difference in price tag shows with this thong's premium look and feel, as well as its excellent build quality. The thong is very sturdy, uses thick fabric, and frankly looks very beautiful. This came with a price though, since I did feel that the elastic waistband is very stiff. I also did not really like the thick polyester fabric material which seems very akin to swimwear. In fact, I would be very happy to use this thong as a swimsuit given how similar it looks to one, but the Y-back shape has so far stopped me from actually trying it as a swimsuit. Being polyester though, the fabric is very quick to dry (hence adding more weight in favour of the swimsuit argument). Apart from that, I did think the pouch is reasonably comfortable and also very roomy despite appearing rather flat-looking front. The strap on the Y-Back did feel a bit too wide for my liking and gives a bit sore of a sore feeling after prolonged wear. Overall, the quality of this Malaysia-made thong is exceptional, reflective of its higher price tag. I did not like this thong enough for me to have pulled the trigger on trying other 2(X)IST thongs, but I am not closed to the idea of trying other 2(X)IST thongs when the time is right.

Reviews / Orlvs Underwear (Chinese brand) + Adannu
« on: January 27, 2023, 02:06:17 AM »
ORLVS, ADANNU, MNK, OBSO, BS, and PLAYPUMP
Orlvs is a Chinese brand of underwear that is produced by the same company producing other brands of underwear (at least according to Aliexpress), including Adannu, OBSO, MNK, PLAYPUMP, and 'BS' Underwear (not sure if BS is a deliberate name). Of those, it looks like MNK and PLAYPUMP do not carry men's thongs. I've seen both Orlvs and Adannu branded underwear being sold quite often on various online merchants, in addition to the odd brick-and-mortar shop in Asia, and have been curious to try them. Like many Chinese products, of course, the prices on Aliexpress are absurdly cheap. I got an Orlvs BLACK Thong in white as well as an Adannu modal thong, both of which I'll be reviewing. I'll first start with Orlvs:

I don't want to speak in a pejorative sense, but I think it's quite evident that many Chinese products feature designs copied from other brands. Frankly enough, based on a quick browse of Aliexpress, many Orlvs products are also reminiscent of certain brands like C-IN2:

ORLVS BLACK Thong

However, I must hand it out to them on this Orlvs Black Thong, since I feel this looks like a creative design that I'm not aware has been done by any other brands. It frankly looks unique and great. When looking at the pictures, my biggest worry was about the back strap, which appears to be made with the same material as the waistband. But my fears were alleviated when it became clear how soft and flexible both the elastic band and the strap are. In fact, the material of the thong is simply excellent. The pouch is made with a very soft modal fabric, and the elastic bands are the softest exposed waistbands I've ever felt. As such, I felt that this thong is very comfortable to wear. The pouch was a bit on the small side but fit my package fine enough. The modal is quite elastic, but it doesn't make a very protruding bulge. I did not like that the back strap and the waistband aren't sewn into place, so the strap could move around. Objectively speaking, the build quality did not look especially excellent since there are many lose threads and the stitching isn't the neatest around (but I'm not complaining, given how cheap it is)

Hello everyone, I thought it might be interesting to make a poll about your favourite types of thong cuts. Would also be interested to hear about different settings or scenarios during which you'd prefer one type of thong over another.

Reviews / MetroMaleWear (Korean brand)
« on: January 23, 2023, 10:12:19 PM »
MetroMaleWear or M2W is a Korean underwear manufacturer that apparently has been in business since 2001. I've not personally heard about this brand before, nor have I known any Korean underwear makers, to begin with. I found out about the brand as I was browsing an underwear shop in Taipei, Taiwan. The selection at said shop and online shows that M2W produces a lot of different types of men's thongs and in many varying styles. They weren't especially cheap, costing at least £17 per piece but I decided to get myself a pair as I was curious about it.

Modern Pouch Thong
https://www.bgg.kr/goods/goods_view.php?goodsNo=25598

I selected this thong for its relatively different look, which I'd consider to be on the 'micro' side, perhaps akin to a sleeker version of a Joe Snyder thong. The thong itself is made of polyester and spandex and I felt the fabric was particularly thick on this thong, similar to the thickness of swimwear fabric. I think the elastic waistband is rather stiff like that from the 2(X)IST Sliq thongs, but it's nothing bad. The pouch is relatively roomy, not too big and not too small. The bulge is thus from this thong isn't too noticeable, but it is not as flat as a HOM thong. As such, wearing it, I didn't feel that my package was squeezed and it feels mostly comfortable. The back is at about 2.5cm/1 inch at its narrowest width, which is a good width in my opinion. However, I can't help but think that wearing it feels a lot like wearing a thong swimsuit, making it possibly less comfortable for prolonged wear. Build quality is excellent as evident from the very neat stitchings.

I found this brand at a market in Hong Kong, and this would probably be my first foray into Chinese underwear brands. I couldn't find a lot of information about the brand in English, although it appears regularly on various Chinese wholesalers like Aliexpress. Like many Chinese brands, they appear to produce a lot of different types of thongs and briefs. What really stood out about these were how cheap they were. I got each pair for the equivalent of less than £3.

JQK Pouch Thong
This thong is apparently made of cotton, but it does seem like a lower grade of the material since I found the fabric to be rather coarse. The thong features are reasonably roomy pouch which was nice enough. Due to that, the pouch gave a nice bulge. Despite that, I thought the placement of the pouch to be way too high (more so compared to that of Cocksox's), lifting my package too much for it to be comfortable. The height of the pouch also caused the front to sag, since it appears that the waistband isn't strong enough to keep the weight of my package lifted. The back of the thong is a reasonable width and looked nice, making it the only positive aspect of the thong.  The quality itself was quite bad as the stitching started coming apart after two washes, revealing the elastic waistband inside. Perhaps this is a bit too harsh on account of the price, but this was just overall a poorly designed/made thong.

JQK Ice Silk Thong
Despite having the same manufacturer, this thong featured a different cut and design compared to the one above. This thong did not feature a high placed pouch, and thus isn't much on 'enhancing' the bulge. The front part itself has a very unique narrow cut, like the Joe Snyder Rio Thong, only narrower. I suppose such a design is appealing to some, but I did not particularly like it; the narrowness of the front would ideally require one to get something along the lines of a Brazillian wax for it to actually sport the thong tastefully. The thong is made with a blend of nylon and spandex, but again does feel rather coarse. The pouch itself is a reasonable size and didn't squeeze my package too much given the elastic material. The back looks standard and I didn't have any issues with it. The fit does seem particularly bad since the waistband just seems very stiff and small even after goign one size up over what I usually wear. Finally, I thought the quality of this thong is nicer than the previous one as it isn't as prone to breaking.

Reviews / Cocksox
« on: January 18, 2023, 08:35:32 AM »
After hearing so much about the brand, I finally bought myself a pair of thongs from Cocksox. The brand apparently comes from Australia, and has often set itself apart with their pouch design, which claims to give a "flattering enhanced profile" along with claims of increased breathability.

Cocksox CX05 Original Enchancing Pouch Thong
The first thing that came to mind about this thong is definitely the pouch. Indeed and completely true to its name, the pouch is very much 'enhancing'. The pouch looks to be placed much higher compared to other brands, and is a lot more roomier as well. As such, the thong does lift the package very well and the bulge does stick out very much as a result. I'm not entirely sure this is a good thing, since personally, this limits the settings during which I'd use this thong. The feeling of wearing this thong is quite nice, although I do think the pouch is placed a bit too high for my liking. The thong back wasn't too wide, and was a nice width, tough. The thong is made with a blend of supplex and lycra, which I didn't particularly like. The fabric feels a lot like a softer cotton but isn't as nice to the touch compared to modal or polyamide. Given the reputation of Cocksox, I was quite disappointed with this thong, although I wouldn't be closed to trying the other thongs also produced by Cocksox.

I managed to get my hands on a pair of JOR-branded thongs, and based on my one pair I'd have to say this is close to being a favourite, for practical reasons. The brand comes from Colombia in South America and produces a reasonably large variety of thongs and g-strings. I also think their designs are quite sleek and would likely get more pairs in the future.

JOR Eros Bikini Thong
https://www.jorwear.com/product/1476-eros-bikini-thong-blue/
This thong is made of a mixture of nylon and spandex, and the former really gave the material that very nice silky touch. The high amount of spandex also made it very elastic and I am a big fan of the fabric. I was initially sceptical about the external-internal waistband combination but I ended up really liking it since it gave the thong a different look. The front section of the thong features a nice sized pouch that is rather roomy. I think the bulge doesn't protude to much nor is it too conservative, giving it a nice balance that is comfortable for any setting. The back is also very nice, given its thin strap but not to the extent of a g-string. The quality also looks great and I'm overall very impressed and happy with it.

Calvin Klein needs no introduction, and for one, I am grateful that a big name like CK produces thongs for men (it even says best seller on their website!). I understand that CK used to have a few variety of men's thongs in the past, although unfortunately, I am rather late into the game to try those ones. Without further ado, I'll be reviewing the CK men's thong:

Calvin Klein Cotton Stretch Thong
CK's thongs mostly come in black, and this was the colour I had. Frankly, I found the look of the thong to be rather unappealing, particularly when compared to their women counterparts; although I could sense that the design inherently looks rather 'masculine', with its jockstrap-like front. Whilst the thong is made of cotton, it felt rather thick and rough, and I'd similarly describe the waistband as rough. As such, I didn't like wearing this one too often since the material didn't feel very nice between the cheeks. Being a major underwear brand does have its perks though, since the front pouch is very well designed and is ergonomic; it doesn't squeeze the package and has plenty of room to breathe. I felt that the waistband isn't very elastic, and occasionally bunches up when getting up from a slouched position. I find it rather disappointing that Calvin's thongs are this way, and I personally wished they'd make something that's much more similar to their women's variety both in cut and material.

Groovin' is a Thai brand of underwear that apparently has a Japanese founder called 'Masashi Sakai' from what I was able to gather. With that, the brand advertises its underwear to have "Japanese design" and come in very colourful boxes. I purchased a few pairs at a large department store on a recent trip to Thailand. In addition to thongs, as well as the usual boxers and briefs, the brand also carries jockstraps, tangas, string bikinis, and g-strings.

Groovin' Thong
This thong is made of Nylon and Lycra and comes in a variety of solid colours. The material is very soft and almost silky, but without the glossy look of other thongs made with similar materials. The waistband itself is rather elastic although with many Asian brands, the sizes do run rather small; as such buying one size up is recommended. The front itself is rather low-rise and reminded me that of the Gregg Homme Torridz thong. It also doesn't feature a very large front and my package occasionally slip out the sides as a result even when not hard; as such there isn't much of a bulge. Despite that, I loved the mixed thong and string back (looks like the Hom Freddy Thong), and the soft material of the string made it very comfortable between the cheeks. Aside from the small front part, the quality is excellent as the thong kept its colour and build after several washes and use.

Groovin' Waistband Thong
This thong is made of polyamide and lycra and also comes in a variety of colours. The material is much silkier than the above thong, but just as soft. The front with this one is much much wider almost that it looks unflattering from the front, but it is rather comfortable to wear. It didn't hurt that the fabric felt a lot more elastic too. By design, there isn't a protruding bulge, but the elasticity of the fabric really outlines the shape of the package. The back strap was relatively nice and looks a lot like a traditional thong back.

Fit: 3.5/5

Groovin' Accent Thong
This thong is very similar in design and material with the first thong but with white lining. Interestingly, the waistband itself a bit wider on this one, which I feel might be a defect. The front itself is a bit more high high-rise compared to the first thong, so it looks a bit more conservative on the front. Thankfully this thong has a bit of a larger front which made it a lot more comfortable for the package. Like the first thong, I loved the mixed thong and string back, it is very comfortable to wear. The quality is excellent like the others.

Groovin' G-String
This G-String is made of nylon and spandex and features perforation on its fabric for breathability. The string is free size and adjustable and comes in two sizes (F and FF), the latter having more waistband. Due to the holes on the fabric, the material isn't as soft as the others but I feel this would be excellent for athletic use. The pouch is a good size and ensures the package isn't squeezed. The strings are very soft to the feel and didn't make it uncomfortable for prolonged use. I only disliked that it all came in white but with a different colours in its lining.

Reviews / HOM
« on: August 14, 2022, 08:01:15 PM »
HOM is probably amongst the more well known brands in this forum, but I thought I'd chime in with my thoughts on a few of their thongs. As you know, HOM is a French brand that's been making men's thongs for a long time. Interestingly though, it appears they no longer stock Jockstraps. Over the years, i've had the opportunity to try out many of their products, including three types of thongs.

HOM Plume G-String
This is probably HOM's signature thong and nowadays, only comes in four colours. It is made with polyamide elastane, giving the fabric a smooth, silky feel. Unlike a regular g-string though, this one comes with a thong back as opposed to a narrow string. I really liked the minimal look of the thong, which I thought looks appealing from all sides. I also liked that the string waistband did not bunch up, making it nicer for longer use. The front pouch was rather nicely sized and fit my package well, and the thong back was a nice width, ensuring comfortable use. I overall really liked this thong.

HOM Freddy G-String
Compared to the Plumes G-String, this one has a relatively more conservative thong-look, although the back strap converges into a string towards the bottom. This thong is made with the same silky smooth material as the above, which I thought is very nice. I liked the look of this thong as well, although I found the pouch to be a bit tight on the package, and the string to the rather short, giving it a rather chafing feel on the back. The build of the thong is relatively nice, although I found that the back string frazzles easily after several uses.

HOM HO1 Thong
I got this thong at a department store during a trip to Taiwan, but it looks like this product is no longer stocked by HOM. This thong looks exactly like a run-of-the-mill thong, made of a cotton material and with a normal thong back. It looks rather nice, if not a bit normal, although like the Freddy G-String I found the pouch to be tight on the package. The material didn't feel very elastic either, so the thong back did start make me feel sore after several hours of use. The quality of the thong is very nice though, evident from excellent stitching and keeping its shape after many uses.

This is a German brand of underwear now known for the time it pulled a marketing stunt by involving a Tongan luger adopting the brand's namesake to compete in the 2010 Winter Olympics. The brand also happens to sell several men thongs (called strings) which are easily available online in Europe. I ordered an medium 'String Check Line' in red from Amazon.

String Check Line
This thong is made of polyamide and comes with a simple checked texture pattern. I felt that the material is very soft but not smooth, although the elasticity of the thong made it very comfortable to wear. I thought that the front was a bit snug for the package, but it isn't a problem since the material is very elastic. The bulge wasn't very protruding either, making it a bit more 'conservative'. I also liked the look of the back—with the strap being a good thickness, making it is comfortable for extended use. I liked that there isn't a line stitching on the body of the thong . The quality is also very good, as expected from a German brand, as the thong kept its shape and build after several washes and use.

Punto Blanco is a major Spanish maker of underwear for men and women, and they happen to carry a few thongs for men that are readily available on Amazon in Europe. I ordered a box that came with two pairs, called the "Invisible 2 pack string" in black and grey, which were the cheaper ones of the bunch.

Punto Blanco Invisible 2 pack string
I got these thongs at £17 for a box of 2, which I thought is a lot cheaper compared to other major thong manufacturers like HOM, Diesel, Armani, or Calvin Klein. They are made of cotton, and I'm not sure what made them 'invisible', since they still had a protruding elastic lining. I thought the cut looks appealing from the back, although from the front, it looks like any run-of-the-mill briefs you'd find from other manufacturers. As such, the front section fits the package rather snugly, although I find it a bit tight at times. Since it looked very ordinary apart from the thong back, I thought that these would be suitable to wear in professional instances like on the job, at school, or during formal events.

I got many pairs of Skinxwear-branded thongs during a holiday in Singapore, and as far as I'm aware, they seem to be a local brand from Singapore or maybe neigbouring Malaysia. Each pair of thongs are packaged individually in relatively nice looking boxes that are littered with various buzzwords like 'sensuous', 'ultralight', 'enhancing', 'L'invisible' and etc,. I was later told that the brand stopped production recently, so if you do come across them, this might be your last chance. In total I got 6 thongs, each from a different line and features different materials/look.

1. Skinxwear Profilo Enhancing Push-up Thong

This was by far my favourite of the bunch. They came in various bright colours which I liked, although I ended up getting a blue one. The Profilo Thong is made with a combination of modal, milk (whatever that is), and elastane, and I absolutely adored the feel of the cloth; it felt very soft and sensual to the touch, and therefore, very comfortable on skin. As the name suggests, the thong features a nice pouch which creates a bigger looking bulge (similar to Cocksox's) although I found it to be a bit snug for my package. I also really liked the cut, which I thought was very agreeable with the back strap at the perfect thickness. I do have a bit of doubt about the quality as the stitching did start to frazzle after a few wears.

2. Skinxwear Supremo String Thong

The Supremo String looks very similar to the HOM Freddy String, given its combined thong and g-string look, but made with different fabric. They only had this thong in black, although the feel and material of the fabric seemed similar to the Profilo one. It is made with a combination of micromodal and elastane, and it likewise felt very soft to the touch. The thong also features a nice pouch that felt roomy. I also really liked the cut which looks very nice from the back, although the string did chafed a bit between the cheeks causing some discomfort. The string frazzles after a few wears, but I guess that's by design since the Freddy String does the same.

3. Skinxwear Perfetto Invisible Thong

This appears to be the brand's answer to VTL, as it is explicitly marketed as invisible underwear. It came in a few colours, and the white version was noticeably sheer. The thong is made of nylon microfibre and was silky to the touch, although I didn't like it as much as I did with the Profilo and Supremo ones. It felt relatively comfortable to wear, and indeed prevented any visible VTL (although my pair in blue is still technically visible when wearing white trousers). However, I disliked that it wasn't good at keeping my package in. The lack of a guide (usually from the elastic lining) meant my privates kept poking out of the sides of the pouch, which made it annoying. Furthermore, I have doubts about the quality as the glued-on lining has started coming off after several wears, as did the stitch between the pouch and the thong strap. It didn't help that this was the most expensive piece of the bunch.

Comfort: 3.5/5

4. Skinxwear Ultimo Y-Back Thong

This was honestly my second favourite of the bunch. Being a Y-Back Thong, it looked similar to those by 2(X)IST and C-IN2, but features a thinner back strap akin to a g-string. The string itself was flat with rounded edges and was very soft and silky. The thong pouch is made of microfibre and spandex and is likewise soft and silky. I also really liked the waistband, since it is very soft and elastic and didn't twist. I had concerns about the stitching on the tiny Y-back might come off, but it has managed to keep its shape after some use. I really love sleeping in these as it feels like not wearing any underwear at all. The only con to this is probably the look of the back, since the Y-back's string doesn't go all the way up the cheeks before diverging into the Y. That is a personal preference though. All in all, excellent!

Fit: 5/5
Look: 4/5
Comfort: 6/5 (amongst the most comfortable thongs I've ever worn ever)
Quality: 4.5/5

5. Skinxwear Senza Ultra Thong

So I'm not sure what exactly makes these thongs 'ultra', but the packaging suggests it's based on how light they are (although I didn't notice any discernible difference). Like the invisible thongs, these ones are made with nylon microfibre so they can be rather sheer in lighter colours. The material feels silky although a bit rougher than the invisible ones. I really liked that these had a nice and roomy pouch that kept the package in place whilst giving a nice but not too offensive bulge. The non-absorbent material meant that sweat won't soak it up, making it suitable for athletic use. I thought these ones are also relatively comfortable, with a great back strap thickness. Although, I notice there was some discolouration after a few washes.

Fit: 4/5
Look: 4/5
Comfort: 4/5
Quality: 3.5/5

6. Skinxwear Intima Sensuous Thong

I found these to be my third favourite of the bunch. The thong is made of nylon mesh microfibre, and has a horizontally-stripped texture that alternated between being sheer and solid in colour. The fit and shape was very similar to the Ultra Thong and features a nice, roomy pouch for the package that also gave a nice bulge. However, I felt that the fabric is noticeably softer compared to the Ultra Thong, which made it a lot more comfortable (especially during extended usage). The quality also seemed much better, and had no discernible wear and tear or discolouration after several washes. Excellent!
