Joe Snyder thongs would be my recommendation - light weight fabric and enough stretch to remain comfortable.

Welcome - yes it's great to be amongst a community of men who wear proudly thongs!

I've only seen a younger guy put on some thong underwear as he was dressing in a swimming pool locker room after a swim.

I'm so jealous too - a combination of living in a country with a mild climate and having relatively fair skin I'm not sure I'll ever manage a thong tan line. I'll often sunbathe naked too. Maybe later in life?

thongdan, just curious to know which C/O beach you tried in the UK? Was it Studland?

The beach I was referring to in my post was Fairlight Glen which is a lovely naturist beach. I've also worn my swim thong at Studland although I just wore it for sunbathing there and swam nude.

Agreed, their swim thongs from about 10 years ago were really superb but they seemed to stop making them unfortunately. I’m still a big fan of their underwear thongs and strings though.

Yes agree a real shame they stopped producing swim thongs. You can sometimes pick them up on eBay although they get pretty expensive. I turned to Olaf Benz swim thongs (sun strings) as a good substitute.

Agree their thongs and strings are great underwear - they make up a substantial part of my collection.

I've got increasingly more confident about wearing thongs on the beach over the past few years probably as I'm getting older and less worried about what others think about me. I've been comfortable wearing speedos on beaches for many years though so that helped.

My first time was about 5 years ago on a deserted beach in Lanzarote and felt incredible. After that I vowed to braver in future and that was followed by wearing it on other beaches in Spain. Like @Bunsonshow I try to select quieter beaches where I can have a fair amount of space between me and other people.

Last year was my first time wearing a thong on a UK beach. I chose a quiet clothing optional beach - there were a few other people around but they didn't seem to mind. I sunbathed and went for a few swims. The feeling was just amazing!

That’s in amazing condition considering the age, the stitching looks really good too. They don’t make them like they used to.

They certainly don't although HOM continue to make very good quality garments.

I have done this in many places in Australia, many times over the thirty-odd years that I’ve been wearing thongs.

Great to hear you've been doing it for so long - I agree there's nothing quite like the feeling of strolling along the beach in your thong and that's coming from someone like me who is a naturist.

Sorry to hear you've been subject to people yelling bad things but equally good to hear you've had compliments - I think as you say the key is being brave enough to be yourself and wear what makes you feel good. Sometimes easier said than done of course.

Questions and Opinions / Re: How excited are you when shopping thongs?
« on: April 15, 2020, 10:12:43 AM »
I can spend hours trying to decide which design to buy but I love the anticipation. It's always a risky feeling buying from a brand I haven't purchased before more because I am not familiar with the cut and sizing. I love building up my collection from brands I know and love too.

That's fantastic - so pleased that you were able to relax in your thong in the presence of your family and public - as you say it must have felt incredible!

......  That's a stunning string bikini. HOM underwear is one of my favourite brands and I love their vintage stuff. Great that you still have it. How did you find it originally?

I'm not sure where I bought it. It is so long ago. I think it was somewhere in the south of France, maybe St Tropez. It was quite tight because the French sizing is different from the rest of Europe. I had to guess.

Good guess work - looks like it fits you perfectly

This is the tanga I could get away with when I was together with my partner. It is a HOM from 1980 with the old logo, a trident. It is still in good shape but it is now a tad tight. Maybe I expanded a little. ;)

DA is like Covermale, they basically copied most of the Joe Snyder designs and i feel that JS has more stretchy/comfy fabric vs. DA

I agree these two brands are very similar. I have a couple of each and enjoy wearing them although they don't feel as high quality or as good to wear as Joe Snyder. This is one of the DA bulge thongs I own. I haven't checked out their stuff for years so might try some other styles of theirs.
