I would try a good pair or running shorts. Like the ones you see people that actually go running for several miles at a time wear. I have a pair I wore under a costume for a musical. they literally stop half way to my knee and come up higher when I sit. Those might work.  Or try wearing something like leggings that are spandex. wearing something like that under shorts might give your thong lines some definition. I'm assuming you want people to tell what you are wearing without actually revealing that you are wearing a thong. Keep us updated on what you picked up.

If you’re working out at home...i just wear some JS running shorts with a bulge thong under...that shows things off well.  But I’d never wear it to a real gym!

I have a couple of pairs of the A14 Cover Up Split Running Shorts from Skinzwear .  Depending on the fabric choice they might be what you are looking for.

I love these shorts and other shorts from muscle alive

I have found that these shorts that say 'muscle alive' on the front are shorter in overall length than the others. They are all 3" inseam but the ones without the 'muscle alive' on them are overall taller than the others. I can still wear them but I roll the waistband a time or 2 to get them lower rise where they don't bunch up.

I have a couple pair of the Muscle Alive shorts. I love them. They fit my body very well. I’ve worn  them to the gym, beach and pool. The fit is very close and let’s me show off my legs.
