I happen to think that wearing a think that wearing a thong on a public beach or at the pool is indecent. Just puts a lot out there. Wear them in your own backyard.
Info however generally wear a bikini type cut speedo to the public beach

Since a few years, wearing a thong at the beach is no longer a problem for men.
Most people do not mind thongs, men or women.
I wear only thong swimwear (conservative thongs) at the beach, with no issue.
I did not notice gender discrimination on beaches anymore.
A woman thonger has more risks to be harassed than a man thonger.
So I can say that I wear a thong at the beach as easily as the women.
Wearing a thong at the swimming pool or at the water park is a bigger challenge.
At the swimming pool, I think I wear my conservative thong easier than woman because no one harrassed me. Nobody cares. Other swimmers do not mind about my thong swimwear.
