I would like to know about the use of thongs as swimwear.

i'm fortunate to live in South Florida. Its generally thong weather year round. I ONLY wear thongs. I wear them to the beach, gym, around the house. Thongs are definitely a fetish of mine. I go to a couple different beaches. One is in Fort Lauderdale called Sebastian Beach. Its a gay beach. Surprisingly i'm usually the only one in a thong. There is a clothing optional beach North Miami Beach called Haulover beach. I still prefer to keep my thong on. I don't want to lose my thong tan line. Plus something left to the imagination is sexy. There might be one or two other guys in thongs at that beach. I would say that thongs are slowly and I mean slowly becoming more popular.

Since around 2000, I go to the beach in a thong or g-string. I don't swim so I don't wear swimstrings or -thongs technically. I walked around in thongs at the Dutch beaches and since 2010 at the American beaches (if they allow thongs).

My past few trips to La Jolla I wore a thong. I only exposed my thong while laying out in the sun, I would keep shorts on when going to and from the water. Quite a thrill being only in a thong in public. I would get occasional looks, but I wasn't the only guy in a thong. Plus there were plenty of women in thong bikinis so I wasn't exactly out of place.

I voted no but would like to. Guess I’m too chicken! I’m not even sure why I have a desire to do it. Not really sure what I’d get out of it. Maybe just excitement, who knows!

I have worn thongs on C/O beaches. No problem at all. Wanted to try thonging on SoBe Miami, but chickened our. However, I did wear one at the beach hotel pool.

I’ve worn a thong suit on many public beaches all around the U.S., from Florida to Michigan, Massachusetts to California. 99% of the time I have had very positive experiences. Normally I am the only man wearing anything smaller than your standard shorts, but have found that either people leave me alone or (as is more common) women strike up a conversation with me.

For the past year or so i’ve Been wearing thongs full time and have worn them to the beach and pool on an increasing basis. Initially i chickened out like most do...wearing a thong under my trunks and then never going all the way. Then i went to a few more gay spots where it would be more welcome, gave it a try and then started doing more and more. Now i wear thongs most of the time but that’s probably b/c i go to places where i know i can get a away with it. Miami,LA, Mexico etc...i’ve Had comments before but they’re all good!

You won’t regret it. Try and go to a big, quiet beach, maybe one that has naturist and gay areas. Just pitch up close to those rather than the family orientated area and go for it.
I find in incredibly liberating, wearing a thong outside. It’s amazing how a small difference in clothing can make you feel.

I’m hoping there will be a couple of private patches of beach. Start there before I mingle with the general public.

I just spent some wonderful days in the Bahamas. On day one I walked out to the pool and beach and stripped down to my BuffedBod Hoist thong. While initially I got a few looks, everyone was payed back. I was able to walk to the water a few times to jump in the ocean. There were a handful of women wearing thong bikinis or very cheeky bikinis. As the week went on I saw a few other men in briefs but no thongs or anything cheeky. As for the women, each day I noticed more women wearing thong bikini and several setting up near me at the pool. In the ocean I had several conversations with women that expressed their appreciation of what I was wearing. I went to a few different beaches and each time it was no big deal. My tan line has been renewed.over all it was a great time, spending all day at the pool and beach in one of my thongs.

Bahamas, sounds fantastic, I’m so jealous.
It seems to be a common theme unfortunately, you’ll see women in thong bikinis on the beach but never usually a man in a thong.
At least we are doing our bit to try and change that.

After weeks of poor weather, cold weather and a stay at home order I finally was able to spend a couple hours on a local beach today. The beach was full of people on this 90 degree day. I was able to find a spot with the more than appropriate social distance and a good view of the beach. Of course I wore one of my Buffedbod thongs (orange and black wild print). Interestingly enough I saw only two women with cheeky bikinis. All others were much more conservative suits. Men only in board short. I got lots of looks, a few smiles and was otherwise left in peace. I was really hoping for more company of others in revealing swimwear.

I'm in Canada, and it looks like summer is coming to an end. I'm gonna make more trips to the beach before it gets chilly. I'm currently at a local beach. It's a small beach by the river.

I just went for it. Wore a Joe Snyder bulge thong, it was brand new, and that really nice burgundy color...it was perfect. I brought a couple more regular/conservative thongs too...and 1 square cut (for any emergency!). Everyone loved it! I’ll try to post a pic

Field 5. Go to the east end of the parking lot to enter the beach. Walk down the beach towards the lighthouse and that's where they have been set up this summer.

I love this time of year at the beach I was out yesterday at a local beach. I met three friends there, two women one man. The beach was sparsely populated. The women wore nice bikinis, the guy was in a bikini style brief and me in a TropicalThong thong suit. We had the music playing as we danced and played around. I know we got some looks, more for acting crazy and having fun that for what we wore. Of course the women chose the thong of the day for me. It was the first thing they wanted to do. I was happy to let them make the choice. I brought a dozen to choose from and they chose the metallic blue and silver stars print. I just wish I had more of these days before the cold sets in this year.

Thanks, mate - it’s a Joe Snyder bulge thong. And the beach‘s not really a beach ... stones by the river but there’s a little sandy part with bushes, too. Most of the gays would run around naked anyway ... I’d be the only one dressed, most of the time ;-)

This is the JS03, NOT the polyester. I love them. They are my favorite swimwear and are pretty regularly used for all day underwear.

Check out Palm Springs thongers weekend. It is an annual event for male thongers. It is usually held in June. There's also the Sunsplash thongers weekend organized by Thongboard. This event is held every year in July.

Wore my thongs at the gay beach, clothing optional beach, straight beach and even with friends at a private pool. Still unsure to wear it at a public indoor or leasure pool with water slides etc. - even tho slides go faster whith less fabric on your lower back ;-)

What a rush of adrenaline that was the first time but I can tell you that wearing a thong on the beach takes that rush to another level!

I will never forget my first visit. I walked in with my luggage, EVERYONE turned and looked my way. I quickly checked in to my room. Went up and said it's now or never and stripped off my shorts and shirt and walked straight out to the pool with everyone else. I quickly learned that I was just like everyone else and I had nothing to worry about. That weekend I made LOTS of new friends and had a great time all weekend long in my thongs.

I have worn thongs to the beach before, but it was very secluded and only a few people around. I have walked around Hippie Hollow in Texas with just a thong and nude since it is clothing optional. It was awesome seeing others in thongs and nude all around.

I was the only male thong wearer I saw. I didn’t even see a man in anything more revealing than board shorts. The women wore mostly thongs or very cheeky bikinis for the most part.

Finally a beautiful day here in the Great Lakes. Warm, sunny and beautiful here today. I spent the day at the beach with a friend. It’s the earliest time of year I’ve been at a local beach. Maybe it will be an early summer and many more days of wearing a thong on a beach.

My collection of swimsuits. So aside from long knee length shorts, I managed to buy the somewhat rare Japanese style arena swim bikini briefs. I probably wont be wearing it unless we're in a private pool, much less the desmitt swim thong unless as a piece of undergarment when swimming (Dont have thatt confidence yet guys). Oh I really wanna try the thong swimming. Well, the bikini style briefs are easily an odd man out where I'm from though yeah, probably no big deal. People cover up so much when they swim, they swim with clothes on. If not clothes, rashguards and knee length shorta for sure.

Yes, I received a few compliments. It really looks nice. I really like wearing that suit. It is comfortable for day long wear, since it has a large pouch and it is a kind of pushup. For sure wet look color emphasizes the pouch.

You are welcome to your opinion but I could not disagree with you more. It feels so freeing and natural. Also so many women are wearing thongs or basically thongs when they are at the beach why can't men.

Obviously I see no problem with wearing a thong, in private or at the beach. If someone is not comfortable with wearing a swim thong in public that is fine. You do you. I just have a difficulty with others passing their judgement on those of us that are comfortable in our own skin and confident enough to be who we are. Again I was out at my local beach yesterday in mixed company (men and women). All were accepting of my choice of swimwear as I was of their choice.

You're entitled to your opinion, and it's okay to think that it is indecent to show off your buttcheeks in public.
However, you have to realize that people are just following the latest fashion trend, and most people do not mind thongs. You do get a few overprotective and conservative people, but in general, people are becoming more accepting of thongs.
I had a great time at the beach last week because I didn't get any weird comments or looks. No one batted an eyelid when they saw me in a thong.

Desmiit thong is a conservative thong. Actually the best value for money.
A conservative thong is :
- covering front part (like a brief)
- no bulge
- front lined
- no see through when wet
- solid matt color
- no shiny
- comfortable waistband (1 inch)
- no string for the waistband
- anus must be covered
- no string for the rear band
If your thong swimwear respect these rules, you won't have issue.
If your thong swimwear doesn't respect these rules, you may have issue, men or women.
The more daring your thong swimwear is, the more you take risks of having problems.
A conservative thong is tolerated everywhere without issue.

Basically, any swim thong with a 1” hip/waistband (preferably with drawstring) will work. Less than that goes into tanga/string territory and more than that into cheeky butt.

Oddly enough when I was very young I wasn't aware of the hang ups people had about speedos and even wore one in a public pool where all the north americans would have long shorts. The very first time was in a hot springs and I was super excited to wear my new swim briefs.
Fast forward a year or so and I finally got a thong, a gregg homme and I went to a nude beach and wore it while I was there. Lately i've gotten more repressed due to people's views but I've gone from being weary of wearing speedos to only just wearing them in the pool and gotten to the point of wearing lower cut and skimpier ones. Now it's only rio bikinis... which have been shrinking in the back and I will definitely be moving to a thong shortly - both at the beach and pool.

I haven’t been brave enough to wear a thong to the beach in Australia, it’s not so much a big deal here in Oz, but I’ve chickened out.

Just made it to the beach in a thong this morning for the first time. My wife and I found a sparsely populated beach. There were just a few scattered people doing some fishing. We laid out and tanned and did some swimming. A few cars drove by and I'm sure a few people noticed us, but we got no feedback. Looking at some of the photos we took, I'm kind of amazed now I was walking around in so little clothing [emoji28] Swimming was really pleasant in just the thong. I’ve gone twice more since I last posted. First was 2 weeks ago and I got a few looks but nothing was said. Overall was pretty uneventful but nice. Yesterday I wore my skimpiest thong yet, a black Skinz stuffit thong. I did seem to get a few more stares. At one point I was coming out of the water I crossed paths with 2 college age girls in bikinis. They looked shocked and I heard them laugh after walking by. One even turned back to get another look haha. It was a little embarrassing but fun. It was also kind of fun to be wearing less than the 2 cute college girls

I just got back from a trip to Mexico. While there, I was in my thong on the beach 6 hours a day. Walking 4 miles 2x a day and laying out. I got many looks and laughs but several couples, the wife/gf would look at me and say to her husband/bf something to the effect of, "wish you would wear that, you want me to all the time"
