Hey forum
I have a love of wearing minimal coverage underwear and swimwear, mainly thongs. I have bought many thong swimwear over the years. I secretly wore one on a holiday as a self sexy dare, but then got hooked in the freedom they provide. I take cheap breaks to spain so I can relax and work on my tanline.
I haven't got the greatest bod as I'm a little chubby. But I have a great butt for a dude which looks great in one. And I have resieved a couple of compliments from passer bys in some beaches.
I am curious on everyone's experiences at the beach wearing them however. I managed to get a massage in a joe snyder bulge and damn it felt good ::) .

For about 20 year I walk at beaches in a thong or gstring. I lived in Holland at the beginning and started in the north of France. the first two years were quite scary but at some moment you start to build up self confidence. At a certain point you will walk in a thong where it is legal without a problem. The only thing are kids. Parents can get hysterical when they see a guy in a thong walking around.
I moved to the USA and I hope to go to Sandy Hook, NJ, again as soon as the virus allows and the weather gets better. At Sandy Hook people are quite relaxed about men in thongs. After 20 year, it still gives me a thrill to walk around in next to nothing.

I can’t remember a time when I didn’t wear something minimal. As a teen it was smallest Speedo or bikini brief I could find. By 20 it was rio style suits. By 24 I was in thongs, not all the time and not at all beaches. But as my confidence grew my swimwear kept getting smaller and smaller. Then I started having these amazing experience on the beach where women would set up near of with me, complement me, and join me. Over the years I settled on thongs as my choice swimwear. I’ve enjoyed beached and pools from Hawaii and California to Florida to Michigan, to the Caribbean and Australia. I still love walking on to a beach and enjoying the day in wearing a thong.

I’ve worn swim thongs on beaches in Spain, Portugal and Greece during the last decade or so. I tend to do a bit of homework in advance on which beaches I plan to go to. In Spain it’s the long, sandy beaches of the Costa de la Luz, In Portugal, the long sand-bar islands reached by bridge or ferry of the Eastern Algarve, and, in Greece, the small quiet coves of the islands.
I’ve never had any hassle or issues even though it’s rare to see another guy in a thong. I’ve had the occasional person take a sneaky photograph but that’s it. There’s not much you can do about that and, to be honest, I didn’t really mind.
For me, sunbathing, swimming and walking on the beach in a thong is one of life’s great pleasures. I absolutely love it and, hopefully, it’s something we’ll be able to do again one day.

My first time was about 5 years ago on a deserted beach in Lanzarote and felt incredible. After that I vowed to braver in future and that was followed by wearing it on other beaches in Spain. Like @Bunsonshow I try to select quieter beaches where I can have a fair amount of space between me and other people.
Last year was my first time wearing a thong on a UK beach. I chose a quiet clothing optional beach - there were a few other people around but they didn't seem to mind. I sunbathed and went for a few swims. The feeling was just amazing!

The beach I was referring to in my post was Fairlight Glen which is a lovely naturist beach. I've also worn my swim thong at Studland although I just wore it for sunbathing there and swam nude.

I guess I'm more approachable when I'm in a thong. I remember one time I was on the beach and this girl came up to me and asked if I could watch her stuff while she was gone to the washroom. There were other guys there and they were closer to her than I was. She bypassed all of those guys and came to me instead. I felt a bit flattered.
Another time, this girl in bikini briefs decided to set camp next to me. Since she had a book with her, I didn't talk to her and I just fell asleep. When I woke up, I turned around and saw that this girl was in a different swimsuit. She was laying on her stomach in a thong swimsuit. Maybe she had planned this all along, but I would like to think that she was able to change into her thong swimsuit because of me.

Those are two great experiences. I’m not to surprised. I think for a lot of us, we either inspire others to wear a thong openly or have others look at us as non-threatening. I know I’ve had others decide to wear a thing because they saw me in one. Your experiences very much encourage all of us.

I wear thongs to beaches and pools but only when it appears to be fairly UN crowded and/or leaning to the boys. I love the way i look in them so I’m not concerned about that...i don’t like people gawking or surprised...so at pools, its usually a friend’s...at a beaches, they’re usually not crowded and/or more mixed

Hi thongdan, I know Fairlight Glen very well, I used to camp at Shearbarn campsite and spend the best part of the weekend in a thong, wife was up for it in those days too. Went back there year before last for the day and looks very different now after the landslides but really good day..

Great day to wear a thong! I showed up at my local beach and was greeted by two wonderful women. They said they were hoping I would show up. They asked me to join them. Of course I set my chair and towel and stepped out of my short shorts revealing the thong of the day, a Skinz multicolored little number. To say the least I got big wide smiles and very appreciative comments for my choice of swimwear. We were mid beach with plenty of other people around. There were plenty of women in very cheeky bikinis but only board shorts on the men. Needless to say the three of us had a great day. They had to get a couple photos with me. It was a very fun day after plenty of days spent in isolation due to COVID.

My very first time I walked the beach wearing a thong was at Halover Beach (optional clothing). I was so excited that I walked wearing only my thong, from the parking lot to the beach. It was a long time ago but that is a memory I never forget. I turned some heads and also got compliments. I felt so good!!!

I’ve only worn my thong swimwear in public once. I was on holiday in Asia and took myself down to the hotels beach. Slipped off my shorts and singlet covered myself in tanning oil. I sunbaked for a whilst until I got the courage to walk down to the water for a swim. The beach was not crowded but the life guards were definitely watching me. Looking forward to when I can travel and try doing it again.

It’s always good to find someone who approves and even wears thongs too, albeit privately. Maybe he will find the “courage” to wear a thong on the beach some day. For those of us that do wear our thongs proudly, keep doing it. You never know who you may inspire.

Great story! Really great that you encouraged another guy to think about wearing a thong out in public next time. It's so rare to come to across other men who even wear thongs so the fact he opened up to you and told you he wears thongs too is good on its own.

I was wearing one of my Buffbod.com Hoist suits. When I was asked about where I got my suit. The more we make wearing a thong normal the more we may see others willing to join us.
Today I was out at the beach with a few friends. Two women and one man wearing a speedo type suit. I was in my thong. No one was shocked or dismayed. I got “cute suit” comments. It doesn’t matter what I wear or which thong I choose, this group both accepts me and encourages me to wear thong swimwear. They always look forward to which thong, what color/print and the opportunity to “ogle “ me (haha haha). It is a fun group always.

I hang out with a great group of guys normally when the pool is going and they all wear bikini and speedo cuts and generally can’t wait to see what thong I’ll be in.

This year has been particularly good. Today was one of those perfect days, sunny warm, light wind and great company. I got to the beach this morning and one of my friends always just setting up. I walked my things out to her and she stopped what she was doing. “Damn, that is sexy!” Was the first thing I heard. I had on a pair of black large hole mesh shorts that buckle/clip at the side of the hip with a bright yellow thong under. She had to take photos and video and send them off to her girlfriends, because they “would be jealous..” I had to do a runway walk for her and several poses. Then she had me remove my shirts and do it all again. It didn’t hurt any that she was wearing a bright yellow cheeky cut suit. We definitely attracted attention. We met a couple from Italy. He was wearing a small bikini cut brief, she was in a cheeky cut bikini. They both liked my thong and made comments about how Americans are to hung up on nudity. The more normal you cat on a beach in a thong the more accepted it seems to be. I walked in and out of the water a couple of times and got some stares with big smiles. Tomorrow I’ll be back on the beach for another great day.

I’m in Michigan.
Today was another great day. This time I wore an Arroyman thong, blue sparkle. I got told it was a very pretty suit. We were set up mid beach. Everyone could see. Rangers walked by multiple times without batting an eye. They were concern with people drinking alcohol. I walked in and out of the water, sat at the picnic table, talked with friends. It was a very comfortable day.
For those who are Hesitant about wear a thong in public Near where you live, I suggest as long as you are casual and confident there is no big deal to wearing a thong.

Agree, should be 100% normal to wear what you want to wear. There are a lot of beaches who ban thongs for both men and women...even women wearing cheeky bikinis and 1-pieces is generally more acceptable vs. even a guy in a speedo....really is too bad!

Few years ago (pre kids) I used to swim in a pool at mid noon. My choice was JS thong.
The pool is strategic that it’s located beside a wall separating the pool and the road, and it’s located quite far from reception area.
So I wore the thong underneath JS clip bikini, I pull a chair to the pool side (the one siding with the wall) to put my things then stripped down to bikini and went to pool.
Once in pool and if nobody around I stripped the bikini putting it in chair then swimming in thong.
Just in case of people around then I would swim in bikini.
I was swimming for about 30 minutes and because it was hot and the pool is outdoor, by the time I finished swimming I could see faded tanline.
That was happening for almost a year before my first kid was born and I got a nice thong tanline. I regret not taking the photo of my tanline that time [emoji29]

This happened in Myrtle Beach. A 'Karen' called the police and this lady was arrested for public nudity.

Thanks i watched it...unbelievable the cops didn’t know the law and then kept her detailed by changing their rationale to ‘we don’t like the way you’re behaving/attitude’. Well i tell you, you don’t know the laws and then you handcuff me? Yes, I’m going to have a cow!

Thongdan, when you went to Studland, did you walk onto the main beach with it on, or absolutely just keep it to laying down on the clothing optional part? Did people react much? Studland is my closest beach and I find it hard to place what people would think there because it's in a very conservative area of the country, yet it has a nudist beach. And it looks like there aren't any quiet places if it's in good weather. If possible it would be much less hassle to just wear the thing straight from the car to the c/o beach and onto the main beach if I need to be there. If only thongs were more common with women there then it wouldn't stand out so much.

I just wore it on and off in the naturist part of the beach. I got there early so found a nice spot and sunbathed with it on - I didn't see anyone else react and would be surprised if the did.
Wearing it straight from the car would be amazing and I think I'd feel comfortable doing this if I arrived again early when there were fewer people around. The beach gets really busy on a nice summer's day. I think your best bet if you were planning to wear the thong the whole time would be to find a spot inbetween the clothed and naturist part. That way you shouldn't cause too much dismay!

Makes sense about the in-between area - I guess if a person is on the main beach close enough to see a bunch of naked people then I guess they can't be too worried about things.

Same here! I always tell myself it makes no sense I feel more conscious in a thong in public than I do naked!

I arrived at the beach today and met a female friend. As soon as I stepped out of my shorts I heard “cute suit! I really like that one.” A short time later two more friends show up (male and female). She immediately tells me that she likes my thong and that it is really sexy. I noticed another woman I met a while back and pulled on a pair of black fishnet short shorts. I walk over to where she is and she tells me that I have one hot look going on. Later as I am getting ready to leave for the day I again pull on the black fishnet shorts and the two women I’ve spent the day with ask me to turn around and give them a show because the love the look of the thong under the fishnet. I give then a little shake of my booty and bend over a couple of times to pick up towels. They let me know they enjoyed the show. Both grab my butt cheeks and comment on how firm my “ass” is. Fun day!

I had a nice yet surprising thing happen at the beach recently. About mid afternoon a woman I’ve met at the beach came walking directly to me. With her was a young woman. Of course I’m dressed only in a swim thong. “ I want to introduce you to my daughter _____. She is visiting for the week.” We spent an afternoon talking, getting in and out of the water, and in general just hanging out.
