General Discussion / Whale Tail Tales

Does anyone have any stories of their whale tail being exposed?

My wife has told me about it being visible in front of my mom while I was playing basketball with my kids. Also another time when her mother was at our house and I was looking for something under the couch. I'm sure mine has been visible at the supermarket when getting something off the bottom shelf.

Has anyone seen your whale tail?

Where to Buy / In Person Thong Purchases

When I first started wearing thongs it seemed like most brick and mortar department stores were selling them. Now it seems like only a select few do. The thongs that I usually purchased were sold individually and usually came on a hanger and not in a box.

I remember one instance when buying a Perry Ellis thong and matching undershirt at Marshalls. As the cashier rang it up I noticed that he took a look at the back of the thong.

Has anyone had a cashier notice or comment on their thong purchase?

I’ve done it 3 times.

I walked from Polo Beach (nude beach on Oahu) on the trail back to the road in just a thong and a back pack. I think I passed two people on the trail and a few cars passed when I walked along the road to my car.

I left Gunnison Beach (nude beach) walking the path from the beach back to the bathrooms in just a thong. As I was leaving several people were coming in. I think a few did a double take.

Lighthouse Beach at Robert Moses Park in NY used to be clothing optional. Since that ended a lot of people wear thongs and go topless. One of the days that I was there I walked down the beach and back. Passed by some other sunbathers, fishermen and families.

I’ve had six Emporio Armani thongs in my drawer for a few years now. They are an XL but I did not like the way that they fit. I’m 300 lbs and prefer the way an XL Jockey thong fits. I have 3 black, 2 red and 1 blue. The tags were cut from these. They have hardly been worn. I’m looking to sell but would be open to trades. If trading would prefer similar like new condition. I usually wear Jockey XL in the old style and XXL in the new style.

I started wearing thongs years before I met my wife. It took awhile before I let her in on my secret. Since then I started wearing them as my everyday underwear. My wife might have had a few thongs before we met but did not wear them in front of me until I wore mine. Now I wear a thong almost everyday and she wears them most days. I have a lot more then she does.

I usually wear a thong as my everyday underwear. When I get to the gym I undress completely to change and after showering get dressed in the clothes I came in. Over the years I know several people have seen me in my thong. No one has said anything.

My son is 5. He has seen me in my thongs hundreds of times. He has not yet mentioned wanting a pair and frankly he is too young to wear one. When he's a teenager I don;t think I would have an issue with him wearing one. Right now he just wants to wear his super hero undies.

I've traveled a lot for work during the last 5-6 years. I almost always wear a thong and always have thongs in my bag. Never had an issue with it. I sometimes try to avoid exposing my whale tale when putting my shoes and belt back on. I do wonder how much those body scanners reveal and who is watching them.

The only issue that I ever had was being flagged for a pat down after going through the scanner. The TSA officer offered to do the pat down in a private room. I chose to do it right there. He patted his hands across my crotch several times but never had me lower my pants. Not sure if he was able to tell what kind of underwear I was wearing.

I’m 5’8 315 lbs. I’ve been wearing thongs for almost 20 years. For the last 8 or more years they are my everyday underwear. I’ve worn them to the gym and have gotten changed before and after workouts. I’m sure several people have noticed, but no one has ever said anything. Just a few years ago I worked up the courage to wear a thong bathing suit at the beach. This beach used to be nude so there are sometimes other men in thongs. I’ve gotten some looks but never anything said.

I’m confident when wearing a thong and my wife likes the way I look in them so that’s all that really matters to me.

Exciting Moments / Mother In Law

During the last few years my mother in law has come to stay with us for a few days each month. While she is at our house she helps take care of the kids while my wife and I are at work. When the kids are at school she tries to help us with household duties such as washing the kids clothes. There are even times when she will wash or fold my wife and I's clothes.

During one of these times a thong of mine ended up in the laundry basket and she was the one to fold it. I'm not sure if she had seen my whale tail before or after finding my thong in the laundry. After my secret was out I decided to just leave my thongs in the laundry pile even if she would be the one washing the clothes. So since then she has washed and folded just about every color of Jockey thong that I own.

Since then I have walked around the house in nothing but a thong while she has been staying with us. Under normal circumstances this would have been a big surprise. However a few years ago when she first started staying with us I revealed to her that I was a nudist and was more comfortable spending time in my own home naked. She said that she didn't have a problem with that as long as I was comfortable with her being there.

So I guess that her seeing my thong really was not so shocking since she had already seen me naked on several occasions.

Getting Started / My First Thong

I was 20 when I bought my first thong. I ordered it through an ad I had seen in a bodybuilding magazine. They were sheer and kind of snug, not the most comfortable. I wore them every once in awhile. I eventually bought a multipack of cotton thongs at Target, also not the most comfortable. Every once in awhile one of these would slip through the cracks (pun intended) into the laundry. I still lived at home and my mom did the laundry, but that's a post for a different day.

Later that year while interning in NYC I found Jockey men's thongs in Macy's. I bought one and had finally found a thong that looked good, fit good and was comfortable. After that I bought more and more Jockey thongs and started to find them for sale in more Macy's locations. Since then I have tried other thongs but always prefer Jockey.

During this time I still primarily wore boxers and occasionally string bikinis or thongs. It wasn't until years later that I told my wife that I was going to try and wear 30 different thongs for 30 days. After doing that I switched to wearing thongs almost every day.

I have had one experience of having a doctor see my thong. This year I went to a new physician for a physical. In years past very few doctors had me take off my pants during a physical and some didn't even have me take off my shirt. My appointment was on Valentine's Day and I always wear a red Jockey thong on Valentine's Day.

During the exam the doctor asked me to strip to my underwear and then sit on the table while he checked my heart and lungs with a stethoscope and then did the hernia check. I did my best to try to avoid showing him my backside but I'm sure he noticed what I was wearing. Nothing was said about it.
