Shaving tips from Odette Delacroix
« on: April 18, 2016, 02:01:34 PM »
Some years back I asked Odette Delacroix for advice on shaving. Actually, I was considering waxing at the time.   I had a few problem areas that would break out when I would shave. I've been following her advice ever since - and rarely have an issue these days.   Here is her advice:

Okay, I have a whole method regarding this! :p

Honestly, I think waxing hurts and since I would need to wax often, it gets a bit pricey for a nice Brazilian wax as a delicate lady. SO, I shave. I shave my arms, pussy (since the bush is gone), and legs/armpits. Most people end up with razor burn when they shave their pubic areas, which is so ugly to see in porn. Therefore, I take extra precautions and I'm proud to say that my skin is always just as perfect as it looks in photos.

Let me break it down for ya!
Odette's shaving routine:

1. I hop in the shower and I wash my pussy area well with hot water and antibacterial soap.
2. I get a BRAND NEW disposable razor (I buy them in bulk at Costco) and I wash the blades carefully with soap and water in the shower.
3. I shave my pubes first in the same direction that the hair grows. So, I shave starting below my belly button downwards. This doesn't irritate the hair follicles as much.
4. I see where there is still hair that the razor didn't get and I ONLY shave these little spots against the grain of the hair. Basically, I try to shave against the direction of the hair growth as little as possible so the skin isn't irritated more than it absolutely has to be.
5. I finish my shower and dry off.
6. MISERABLE BUT IMPORTANT PART: I splash rubbing alcohol on to the areas that I shaved. It kills any bacteria that gets into the hair follicles because they were microscopically cut up by my razor blades. Razor burn is the infection of tiny shaving cuts, so when you sterilize the area before and after, it greatly decreases the risk.
7. I wait for the area to dry off completely before putting on underwear, etc.

Tip: Don't be tempted to re-use the disposable razor for pubic area shaving again. You don't have to toss the razor if you're a lady--you can use it for your legs and armpits afterwards. When it comes to the pubes, though, use a new one every time to cut down on bacteria on the blades.

I think I will now post this on FetLife, too, so that others can try it out. Waxing hurts more than the few seconds of rubbing alcohol pain, so I just can't get myself to do that. :)

I use a remington microscreen electric razor and a beard trimmer.
Also I use a #1 guard on a standard trimmer for chest and back.  It leaves a nice length of hair but keeps it lady friendly.

I try not to shave because I always get these bumps after shaving. And then I get scars as a result of these bumps. They don't go away...
I've started using Nair, and it does wonders. It is easy to use, and it's convenient. It could be bad for the skin, but I'm not getting any bumps.
